FAQ
Is it free?
Yes. There is only a daily limit on identifications.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Open petaltrail.com and start. Add it to your Home Screen and it opens like an app.
How accurate is it?
Names come from Pl@ntNet, a leading plant identification service. Common plants are usually right, but it can be wrong — so you compare the candidates with your photo. Never use it to decide whether a plant is safe to eat or use as medicine.
Which plants can it identify?
Tens of thousands of species: wildflowers, trees, weeds, garden and house plants. Sharp photos of a flower or leaf work best.
Is my location public?
By default only a location blurred to about 1 km is stored. You choose whether to keep the exact spot.
